School is coming!
Don't start it with a grimace-consider it a fresh page!
Tips for starting this year right:
#1 Set long and short term goals with your child.
Use the SPAM approach!
Simple Practical Achievable Measurable
Decide together how they will be achieved and how they will be measured. The best way to help you child find success is to allow him/her to set the goals and the way they will be measured. Make sure everyone agrees on what success will bring and be sure it is something the student wants.
#2 Encourage your child to run his education like a business. Focus on what he is doing well, work to bring up the shortcomings, but NEVER lose sight that a business's success is due to its strengths. We cannot live in denial about the weaknesses, but students need to realize those weaknesses will not always be the focus of who they are!
How many times do we want students to study harder in areas they are not doing well in? We ignore the joy of success in areas they are gifted in and torture them to spend extra hours in the weak areas.
What if a student mastered the basics in a few areas and was brilliant where his gifts were?! Help your child be real about what he or she needs to do to be the person they were created to be!
The Hangar, LLC exists to help students, parents and teachers focus on the fact students need support and they need to be come independent learners and fly on their own!
